I KNOW YOU’RE FEELIN’ LOVE

Listening to The Man From New Guinea by The In-Crowd I stumbled upon Reggae Groove, an easy going dance-hall track with some simple “Hey yeah!’s thrown over it. I’m not usually keen on direct sampling but this was too much fun to pass up.

True Feelings (2011, unreleased)

Everything else was recorded in a day meaning there are still quite a few changes I’d like to make but I’m still pretty happy with how it turned out.

In other news I will be performing for OFF Interarts upcoming Inside Out show in Montreal on Saturday the 24th of September at 12pm. It will be another ¡FLIST! set along with a few new songs from here and there.

BACK FROM THE DEAD

Just finished the music and sound effects for a small zombie game for the 2011 SA Developer Challenge.

United Wastes (2011, main theme for US of Z)

The game is a fun little Pandemic clone programmed by Scott Ray with art and sound by yours truly. We had one month to complete the game and while it lacks a bit of polish I must say I’m pretty happy with our final product.

The game is available for free here and requires the Microsoft XNA framework. Thanks to all of my friends that were forced to sit through a play-through or two.

THIS IS THE END

Been having some really serious computer problems and found it was time to replace my PC. It’s put a bit of a strain on my record release but I’m still optimistic about my original deadline! I don’t have much to say about this song. Recorded it over the last few days while I wait for my new workstation.

Concentric Squares (2011, unreleased)

So long my faithful companion, I’ve saved you a nice space between my IIvi and C64.

HOTTER THAN A FOREST FIRE

Here’s something I tossed together after getting a little bit too into I Hear Voices by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Not much to say on it other than I’m hoping to turn it into something bigger at some point.

Forest Ranger’s Wife (2011, unreleased)

Been a little quiet lately as I’m getting ready to put out a release. There will be a pretty decent backlog once I’ve got time on my hands again. More info coming soon, et cetera.

FUNK RESOLUTIONS

Found myself with some time to spare on the 31st and recorded this little ditty. I don’t really know where I was going with this but the melody is a variation of Get the Funk Out Ma Face by Brothers Johnson from their 1976 debut, Look Out For #1.

Funk Resolve (2010, unreleased)

I hope I can avoid the swift tide of white funk for another year, I’m not ready to give in just yet. In other news I have a show coming up on January 14th in Montreal at Casa del Popolo. Show starts at 10pm, $5 or pay what you can (click here for more info).

IL N’EST PAS VITE

An old new song. The best kind. I had originally intended this to be the audio for a short film but that project, as many do, fell through.

Il n’est pas Vite (2007, Songs of Love for Jewish Girls)

This will be on the Songs of Love for Jewish Girls compilation I will be releasing for free in the summer of 2011. It’s a collection of unreleased material from the last four years ranging from my electronic and orchestral compositions through some unused ¡FLIST! tracks.
